Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) operates a parallel system alongside its commercial terminals: a network of private and semi-private facilities designed for UHNW passengers, diplomatic principals, and government officials who require a controlled arrival or departure experience entirely separate from the commercial terminal flow. These facilities — Terminal S (the dedicated private/VIP terminal), the Air France La Première dedicated check-in and arrivals lounge at Terminal 2E, the COPE protocol service for diplomatic arrivals, and the various apron access arrangements for charter and private flights operating through the CDG perimeter — are not widely publicised and are accessed through prior arrangement with the airport operator (ADP — Aéroports de Paris) or with the specific carrier. FFGR manages CDG VIP terminal arrivals and departures as an integrated programme: vehicle positioning on the apron approach road, coordination with the terminal greeter or protocol officer, and the seamless transit from tarmac to vehicle without the standard terminal processing that characterises commercial flight arrival.
Terminal S — the CDG dedicated VIP terminal
Terminal S (also referred to as the "terminal de la présidence" or the private terminal at CDG) is located on the south-western perimeter of the CDG airfield — approximately three kilometres from Terminal 2, accessible via the internal CDG road network. The terminal handles VIP, diplomatic, and special mission flights that require tarmac arrival and departure management outside the commercial terminal system. Access to Terminal S is coordinated through the Aéroports de Paris protocol service or through the handling agent managing the flight.
For UHNW clients arriving at Terminal S, FFGR coordinates with the flight's handling agent (the principal handlers at CDG for private and charter operations include Signature Aviation and Universal Aviation) on the tarmac arrival time and the vehicle access protocol. The vehicle is positioned at the Terminal S airside/landside boundary for the client collection — the transit from tarmac to vehicle to Paris city centre runs approximately forty-five to fifty-five minutes under normal traffic conditions.
Air France La Première — the dedicated first class terminal
Air France La Première (Terminal 2E, Hall L, CDG — specifically the "La Première" dedicated departures and arrivals facilities for Air France's top-tier first class cabin) provides a separate check-in, security, and arrivals channel for La Première passengers that bypasses the standard Terminal 2E commercial flow. At departure, the La Première passenger is driven from the dedicated lounge to the aircraft by private vehicle across the apron; at arrival, the passenger is collected at the aircraft steps and driven to the dedicated arrivals area where the private vehicle from FFGR can position.
For La Première arrivals, FFGR positions the vehicle at the Terminal 2E dedicated arrivals exit rather than the standard commercial arrivals area. The coordination with the Air France La Première arrivals coordinator (who manages the tarmac transit for the passenger) is made by FFGR approximately thirty minutes before the aircraft block-on time. For La Première departures, FFGR delivers the client to the dedicated Terminal 2E La Première entrance from which the client's greeter takes over the departure management.
COPE — the CDG diplomatic protocol service
The COPE (Convention Officielle des Passagers Éminents) is the formal protocol service operated by Aéroports de Paris for diplomatic principals, heads of state, senior government officials, and other individuals whose arrivals and departures require security management, tarmac access, and protocol coordination that exceeds the standard commercial VIP service. COPE arrivals are coordinated between the state or organisation's protocol team, the ADP protocol office, and — for the ground transport component — FFGR as the designated vehicle provider.
For COPE arrivals at CDG, FFGR vehicles are positioned in the designated diplomatic vehicle holding area adjacent to the COPE reception facility. The escort convoy (for arrivals with security requirements) is managed in coordination with the principal's security detail. FFGR's drivers for COPE operations hold the appropriate operator accreditation for the CDG restricted areas and work under the direct instruction of the principal's chief of protocol for the arrival sequence.
Charter arrivals at CDG — handling agent coordination
Charter and private jet flights operating into CDG through the commercial terminal system (Terminal 2F handling for certain charter operators) are handled through a hybrid process: the aircraft arrives at a CDG terminal apron, the passengers clear customs and immigration through a designated channel, and the vehicle collection takes place at a specific meeting point that varies by terminal and handler.
For charter arrivals at CDG (as distinct from Le Bourget, which handles the majority of private aviation serving Paris), FFGR coordinates with the handling agent on the specific arrivals procedure — which exit, at which level, and whether a greeters-led process or a direct vehicle position is appropriate. For arrivals involving significant luggage (the standard for an ocean voyage or a ski season return), FFGR provides the V-Class as the primary vehicle and coordinates luggage loading with the handler's ground crew.
Orly Airport VIP service — the south Paris terminal
Orly Airport (Aéroport de Paris-Orly, Essonne — 14 kilometres south of Paris) offers a separate VIP and charter service through its dedicated VIP terminal (the Salon d'Honneur and the private charter handling facility at Orly Ouest). Orly handles a number of private and charter operations that are redirected from Le Bourget, and its proximity to the south Paris arrondissements (the 13th, 14th, and 15th arrondissements are fifteen minutes from Orly without motorway) makes it more practical than CDG for clients based in Left Bank hotels or residences.
For Orly VIP terminal arrivals, FFGR positions the vehicle at the Orly VIP exit road and coordinates with the Orly handling agent on the specific arrival procedure. The transit time from Orly VIP to the 8th arrondissement hotels is forty to forty-five minutes via the A6 and the Boulevard Périphérique under normal conditions.
Booking CDG and Orly VIP terminal transport with FFGR Paris
VIP terminal transport is booked with the specific terminal and service (Terminal S, La Première, COPE, charter), the flight number or tail number, the scheduled arrival time, and the destination (hotel, residence, or secondary airport for onward travel). For COPE and Terminal S arrivals, FFGR requests the handling agent's contact name and the protocol coordinator's number at least 24 hours in advance to confirm the vehicle access protocol.

For arrivals where the principal's security detail manages the airport movement (rather than FFGR coordinating independently), FFGR provides the vehicle as the designated ground transport under the security team's operational control.

The CDG VIP terminal network — from Terminal S for private and diplomatic arrivals to Air France La Première's dedicated tarmac transit to the COPE protocol service — represents a parallel airport system designed for passengers for whom the standard terminal flow is not appropriate. FFGR provides the ground transport for this parallel system as a specialist protocol and VIP terminal service. Contact us: reservation@ffgrparis.com · WhatsApp +33 7 43 46 14 91.
